The Story of the Suitcase

Seriously in love with this post. A spellbinding read!

The Man from the Suitcase

My In-laws were in town.

They didn’t come often, mainly because the desire to make sure their golden child was living a godly life was at odds with the deep-down knowledge that he wasn’t.  How could he?  He was living with a jezebel spirit.  The bi-annual visits to our home turf were fraught with tension, made worse by the fact that we had to hide the liquor bottles.

In an effort to pick neutral activities that wouldn’t expose our true day-to-day life of dive bars, profanity and R-rated movies, we found ourselves in Franklin, TN.  Franklin is safe.  Franklin has antique malls, which my mother-in-law enjoyed deeply, second only to eggs-in-a-basket at Cracker Barrel between Sunday services.

We weren’t completely different, she and I.  I too can spend hours in an antique mall, as long as it is the jumbled kind, full of random stalls ranging from prim doilies displayed on elegant sideboards to towering stacks of milk crates full of…

I Quit: What Really Goes on at Apple

When there are two conflicting affairs because of the time, then what is more important factors based on priorities take precedence. And when the business office is way more important than family, then think for a moment that we (probably) works in the wrong place.

Road Less Travelled

Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary. – Steve Jobs, June 12, 2005.

I’ve just escaped the Apple institution. I’ve sent in my resignation, and fled down its bright white corridors curated by crass colourful pictures of iPhones past. I handed in my security pass and in return I was able to re-claim my creativity, individuality and free thinking from the secure Apple cloak room.  Finally now, for the first time in two years, I feel light, creative and inspired. I am again an individual with my own creative ideas…

Perihal Ujian : Ketika Mahasiswa Salah Duga.

Saya termasuk satu diantaranya. Continue reading “Perihal Ujian : Ketika Mahasiswa Salah Duga.”

Captain America, Pemimpin The Avengers?

“Kenapa Captain America bisa diangkat jadi pemimpin The Avengers?”

Saya sedikit tercengang ketika mendengar seorang teman melontarkan pertanyaan tersebut, malam sebelum saya berencana menonton film Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Happy Birthday Facebook! [Edited]

In order to celebrate the 10th anniversary, Facebook already made a video about the moments that we shared in our account. People can check their own through this addres after log-in,  You can check with hashtag #FacebookIs10 to see a look back movie of your friends, or maybe your idols. I  joined in 2008 and I still remember at that time if facebook relied the members to exchange stickers (not in the form of a chat application).

The first year I joined, I often make the status and hope to get a response (positive) from friends, despite the fact that less as expected. Then, the intensity was further reduced (to make status) and facebook continue to develop its features, like enable its members to play games. At first tried the game, I was like, “Oh My God, I love the innovation!”.

But then, when the number of users are increasing and also the selection of the games, I was a little annoyed by some notifications in the form of a game invitation and plus if every achievement in the game also shared in the timeline. One more thing, in my country, the most annoying thing that I can find in Indonesia is a lot of teenagers who have very strange names and hard to read.

Well, happy birthday Facebook! History has been recorded you as a breakthrough.

Btw, I miss the old of your note application. The features are way more cooler than now.

Pidato Wisudawan Terbaik, Memukau tetapi Sekaligus “Menakutkan”

Me face the mirror. A good article to describe who we are today after receiving a piece of paper in the graduation ceremony.

Quotes About Rain

“I always like walking in the rain, so no one can see me crying.”
-Charles Chaplin-

“You pray for rain, you gotta deal with the mud too. That’s a part of it.”
-Denzel Washington-

“I don’t consider myself a pessimist. I think of a pessimist as someone who is waiting for it to rain. And I feel soaked to the skin.”
-Leonard Cohen-

“I’m singing in the rain, just singing in the rain; What a wonderful feeling, I’m happy again.”
-Arthur Freed-

“That’s what I love. Not being interrupted, sitting in a car by myself and listening to music in the rain. There are so many great songs yet to sing.”
-Alison Krauss-

“This morning’s scene is good and fine, Long rain has not harmed the land.”
-Du Fu-

“If man doesn’t learn to treat the oceans and the rain forest with respect, man will become extinct.”
-Peter Benchley-

“Tears fall in my heart like the rain on the town.”
-Paul Verlaine-

“Into each life some rain must fall.”
-Henry Wadsworth Longfellow-

“Life is the fire that burns and the sun that gives light.Life is the wind and the rain and the thunder in the sky.Life is matter and is earth, what is and what is not, and what beyond is in Eternity.”

-Lucius Annaeus Seneca
